Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Mid-summer blessings to each and every one of you! This coming week brings updates to our daily Mass schedule, as well as celebration of the Fourth of July. Our parish office is closed Friday, July 3, in observance of the holiday, but I will still hold confessions and Mass that morning. Independence Day Mass will be held at 9:00 AM Saturday, July 4th. We will also have regular weekend confession and Masses at their usual times July 4-5. Personally, I am looking forward to a month of prayer and meditation, and welcome you to join me in this new month and fiscal year with prayers for peace and love for all.
This coming week marks the return to our pre-COVID daily Mass schedule. Beginning June 30th, confessions will be at 7:30 and Mass will be at 8:00 AM Tuesday through Friday. We will have a Communion Service this Monday, June 29th, and all following Mondays at 8:00 AM. The church will remain open until noon each day, but there will no longer be daily Adoration. We will return to having Adoration on Thursdays, but keep it in the main church, from 8:30 AM to noon Thursdays. We hope to see you there!
I also want to let you know that I will be taking a brief vacation and then going on retreat in July. I will be out of town beginning Monday, July 6th, and will return Tuesday, July 21st. Please pray for me, as I will be praying for you. We will have guest priests presiding over Masses while I am away, and Deacon Eric will assist with Communion Services and Adoration. Our online calendar on the website is up to date. Confessions will resume upon my return.
In late July we will be trying something new in regards to our parish offerings during pandemic. After the 4:30 PM and 10:30 AM Masses Saturday, July 25th and Sunday, July 26th, we will offer drive-up Communion Distribution in the circle outside the Gathering Space, for anyone still uncomfortable or unable to attend our weekend Masses. I will position myself for distribution of Holy Eucharist outside the Gathering Space doors, where people can drive around the circle drive to receive communion on their hands or in a pix, all without the leaving the safety of their own car. More information is available on our website; please check out information there, as well as in next week’s bulletin. And feel free to take our Communion Distribution Survey, available now on our website.
Please save the date of the weekend of September 26-27 for some of the exciting events we are planning for our parish, even throughout the pandemic. Know that we are considering multiple ways to offer these events and services, regardless of what phase or stage we are in, as directed by the Archdiocese, in regards to social distancing and safe sanitation best practices.
